Plotter Belt how do I change the belt on a HP230 designjet plotter?
To replace the belt requires a substantial amount of work & mechanical knowledge of printers & some tools. I would not recommend doing it yourself unless you have done work on printers before. You have to remove the window, center cover, left & right endcovers, the encoder strip, the trailing-cable guide, & the Y-tensioner and housing, all of which have several steps involved, then there are 21 more steps to remove the belt itself. A very extensive process.
I would recommend having someone experienced in doing this handle it as you could leave your plotter inoperable and may cost more to get it fixed afterward.
But, if you think you want to try it yourself, let me know & I'll see what I can do about getting you the instructions.
